Welcome to Show Business!
Thank you so much for agreeing to be a guest on our podcast! Here are a few guidelines for you to prepare for your interview.
Just think of this as a conversation with a friend rather than an interview. If a topic reminds you of a story, tell the story! Podcasts can have detours — that’s what typically makes them compelling.
It’s a recording, it’s not live. So if you stumble over words you can always pause and just start again. But in general, don’t aim for the perfect answer. Just be natural.
Unless you have been otherwise instructed, please block off an hour for the session. The actual recording will likely be 35 to 50 minutes.
IF IT IS A ZOOM SESSION:
Please be at your device shortly before the interview using the Zoom link provided in your email.
Sound quality matters! If you have a mic, plug it in. If you are willing to invest about $50-$75 for a mic, here are two that work GREAT with links to purchase: 1. Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic Microphone; 2) Samson Q2U USB/XLR Dynamic Microphone Recording and Podcasting Pack
If you don’t have a mic, it is preferred that you use wired Apple earbuds (which have a mic embedded in the wire) or AirPods.
Please position yourself in as quiet of an environment as possible.
Please be aware that we may indeed post the video of the show on YouTube and/or use brief video segments recorded on Zoom to promote the show.
